Spezia Scouting Two Names to Fill Number Nine Slot

Spezia played their first ever season in Serie A in 2020/21 after gaining promotion for the first time via play-offs. Having spent most of their history in the lower tier leagues, the Aquilotti have been energized with a new outlook – thanks to the presence of Thiago Motta as the head coach, who replaced now Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Italiano.

Before the club’s transfer market ban takes effect from the end of the year, the management is looking to reinforce the squad with youth talent – according to TuttoMercatoWeb.

One of them being highly-rated Norwegian striker Jørgen Strand Larsen. The 21-year-old forward spent last season in Eredivisie with Groningen, before which he played for Sarpborg 08 in Eliteserien. He also spent a part of the 2017/18 season as part of Milan Primavera.

The club are also in contention for Udinese target David Strelec, a 20-year-old Slovakian striker who plies his trade at Fortuna Liga club Slovan Bratislava.

Spezia will undergo a two-year transfer market ban from January 2022 due to the breach of national immigration law – credit to the signings of 13 underage players from Nigeria.
