Spinazzola Gets Saudi Offer, Kristensen in Rome to Sign

After showing interest in previous weeks, Al-Shabab has lodged a proposal to acquire Leonardo Spinazzola from Roma. The Saudi team proposed €7M. He has just one year on his contract with the Giallorossi.

According to Goal, the sum could be enough to convince the team to sell. Instead, the wing-back asked for more money to leave Europe, especially considering what other footballers are getting.

While the transfer may not be imminent, the possibility of Spinazzola departing Roma is concrete. At that point, the Giallorossi would have to decide whether to sign a new option or stand pat. They have Nicola Zalewski, Stephan El Shaarawy, and Matias Vina on the left, although the Uruguayan is likely to be on the move again.

In the meantime, they have bolstered the other wing. Rasmus Kristensen has taken the medicals and will soon put pen to paper, Sky reports. He’ll join on a loan from Leeds United. He previously spent three years at RB Salzburg, tallying 10 goals and 10 assists in 72 appearances.

Our Take on Roma and Spinazzola

His sale is unlikely to fetch much more considering his age and contractual situation. If they went ahead, the capital side would have to be ready to hand the reins to Zalewski, as they probably wouldn’t be able to sign somebody better. Kristensen can’t play there, but Zeki Celik and Rick Karsdorp can and have in the past.
