Spurs Could Bring Back Inter Star Under One Condition

After 12 disappointing months, Christian Eriksen is set to leave Inter during the January transfer market. The Danish midfielder is clearly not a favorite of his current coach Antonio Conte, but the former Ajax man is being tracked by a host of big European teams as he is still considered a hot commodity having been one of the best players in his position during his time in England. Speaking of which, Eriksen and his former club Spurs could be set to reunite if the right conditions are met.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur would go for Eriksen only if his former teammate Dele Alli – who’s in turn out of favor in Jose Mourinho’s plans – ends up joining the Mauricio Pochettino revolution at Paris Saint Germain.

The former Tottenham boss has recently joined the French champions after the sudden dismissal of Thomas Tuchel, and several of his former favorites from his time at North London have been linked with a move to Paris.

The report adds that the transfers of Alli and Eriksen to PSG and Spurs respectively would initially be loan deals.

Our View on the Eriksen – Spurs Reunion

A new manager trying to reunite with his old favorites is not exactly a weird occurrence, which is why Alli’s proposed move to PSG shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone, especially after falling down in the pecking order of Mourinho.

However, one must wonder if the Portuguese tactician is actually that eager to bring back his former player.

Eriksen left Spurs last January almost one month after the arrival of Mourinho, and although his departure wasn’t caused by the coach, the Special One didn’t seem to mind it.

In the presence of young midfielders like Giovani Lo Celso, Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, the English outfit won’t be too desperate to reunite with their former playmaker, especially after the way he forced his exit out of the club a year ago.
