Stankovic: “Willingness, Sacrifice and Even Luck Reward You”

Following the Blucerchiati’s 1-0 victory over newly-promoted side Cremonese, Sampdoria boss Dejan Stamkovic spoke about his emotions after clinching his first victory at the helm of the club.

While it seemed like the match was ending in a scoreless draw, it was the center-back Omar Colley who sealed the match-winner from point-blank range within the 78th minute as Manolo Gabbiadini steered the ball into his direction with a headed touch following Tommaso Augello’s over-the-top ball.

With the former Inter player’s side sealing all three points as the Giovanni Zini stadium, Sampdoria find themselves in 18th with a total of six points, only two points away from exiting the dreaded relegation zone.

While speaking with Dazn, as relayed by Tuttomercatoweb, Stankovic provided his perspective of what the victory meant to the club and the fans:

“A complete emotion. It seems that we played at home, with the stands full and the guest sector full and that confidence from the first to the last second. The guys were spectacular. Now I’m not interested in analyzing, we had to win and we found the way. Willingness, sacrifice and even luck reward you.”
