Star Winger Offered To Milan & Inter

Shocking claims from Italy suggest Napoli could be willing to renounce their headline performer Lorenzo Insigne for free after deeming his wage demands excessive. According to Corriere Della Sera (via MilanNews), the Euro 2020 winner has been offered to Milan and Inter as he seeks a way out of Naples.

Insigne has entered the final year of his contract at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. Although Napoli want to tie their captain down to a new long-term deal, the 30-year-old’s €6m-a-year salary request throws a spanner in the works. After months of negotiations, the Partenopei bigwig Aurelio De Laurentiis has reportedly run out of patience.

De Laurentiis is ready to give up Insigne on a free transfer and is even willing to let him go as early as this summer. The Partenopei homegrown star remains one of the best players in Serie A despite having entered the fourth decade.

Milan and Inter are the potential candidates to land the prolific winger, although they’d have to beat fierce competition from the Premier League.

Liverpool, Everton, and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in acquiring Insigne’s services. Aware that he is available in a cut-price deal, the English sides explore the possibility of taking the Italian international overseas.

However, the player’s preference is to stay in his homeland. As such, Insigne’s representatives have already approached Milan and Inter to discuss the prospect of moving their client to Lombardy. Although both sides are excited about the idea of landing the forward, the latter could be at the front of the queue.

While the Rossoneri are well-stocked in the wide areas, the reigning Serie A champions could use additional firepower following Romelu Lukaku’s departure. Yet, this remains only a theory for the time being.
