Stefano Pioli Casts Doubt on His Milan Future

Milan boss Stefano Pioli is unsure whether he’ll be at San Siro next term as his men prepare for a crunch Europa League game against Roma. Rossoneri hauled back a two-goal disadvantage twice to hold Sassuolo to a goal-glutted 3-3 draw in Sunday’s dress rehearsal for the upcoming continental task.

It’s a near-certainty that Milan Milan will finish second to Inter in Serie A, though the next two league matches could spoil their plans. With six points separating them from third-placed Juventus, they’ll take on Inter and Bianconeri in the two matchdays after Thursday’s clash against Roma.

Pioli, whose future at Milan has been among the major talking points in 2024, insists those fixtures will not define his long-term prospects at San Siro.

It changes nothing for me because the next match is always the most important,” the Milan boss told DAZN, as quoted by TMW. “If this is the case, then I will prepare them in the best way possible.

My future will be decided at the end of the season, as it has been throughout my time here at Milan.

While it’s true the two mouth-watering Serie A games won’t change much for Pioli, crashing out of the Europa League quarter-finals might. Milan lag narrowly behind Roma, but given this team’s tremendous firepower, no one can write them off before Thursday’s kick-off.

Another trophyless campaign would be a disaster. But if Milan can claw their way into the semi-finals and beyond, Pioli could earn a lifeline.
