Sven Botman’s name rung around Serie A club last summer window, before Newcastle United came calling with a €37M offer to lure him from Lille. However, an agent from Botman’s entourage – Francesco Miniero – has hinted the Dutch defender could make his way to the south of Italy to play under Luciano Spalletti.

Botman has played an important role in Newcastle United’s rise to the top-half of the Premier League table, quickly establishing himself a key member of the squad. The 23-year-old, who has a valid contract until 2027, has 29 appearances for the Magpies this season.
