Borussia Monchengladbach’s Denis Zakaria has long been linked to a move away from the club, with Serie A being one of his potential destinations.
Kicker recently reported that he will find his way to the exit door at the club with a ‘queue of interested parties from Italy and England. The report mentions Roma and Napoli as the top Italian candidates.
However, reports from Italy rightly link him to Serie A, but with a different club. Atalanta are in the midst of a major revamp and Zakaria has been identified as a transfer target, according to Calciomercato and Sky Sports Italia (via Gianluca Di Marzio).

La Dea are keen to bolster their defensive options ahead of the new season and Zakaria’s prowess in the centre-half could prove to be useful for the Bergamo club. He has a transfermarkt value of €30m and the German club could be prompted to sell rather than see him leave as a free agent next season.
The 24-year-old Switzerland international has impressed so far during his stay at Gladbach and his contract expires in June 2022.
