Tadic Not Moving to Milan, Difficulties Arise Also for Sampdoria Starlet

Milan needed Dusan Tadic to come forward and ask to leave to have some chances to acquire him. Instead, the player went in the opposite direction, saying that he would stay put. He told Voetbal International: “Ajax has always been my dream club. I am here now, and I am having too much fun to depart. This is one of the most beautiful teams in the world.”

Director Marc Overmars had immediately shut the door on the transfer as well. Milan were high on the versatile striker but, since he is 33, they were willing to pay only a small fee to sign him. On the other hand, they had offered him a rich contract.

The Rossoneri face some issues also in the chase of a  younger target. Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero stated that it would take a massive bid to lure away Mikkel Damsgaard. He stated in a presser: “I expected him to be this strong during the Euro, but he is not for sale this summer unless we get an offer that really excites us. I have changed my view on football. Surely, we will need to trim the roster and let go of somebody, but only for the right prices.”

Milan have been linked to a number of players to replace Hakan Calhanoglu. Although, they have not begun pushing for any of them thus far. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport and La Repubblica, Isco and Marcel Sabitzer are atop of the list. Both possess the right skill-set and experience and would not be too expensive because their contracts are up in 2022.
