Talks Between Sassuolo and PSG For Scamacca Reach Impasse

Talks between Paris Saint-Germain and Sassuolo over Gianluca Scamacca’s move to Ligue 1 have reportedly reached gridlock. Per Calciomercato, ongoing negotiations between the parties have yet to come to fruition despite the player’s desire to move to France.

Paris emissaries have already held discussions with their Sassuolo counterparts over Scamacca’s potential switch to Ligue 1. But while the Neroverdi insist on a sizeable €50m valuation, the French heavyweights are not ready to go beyond €35m, including add-ons.

Although talks have reached an impasse for the moment, both sides are willing to meet at the negotiating table again. Sassuolo are aware of PSG’s financial strength and are looking to squeeze out every penny for one of their most in-demand stars.

But they should be careful as Scamacca considers putting pressure on the club to let him join Paris. That could give the French side the upper hand in negotiations.

Scamacca knows that PSG’s bid to take him away from Sassuolo is a lifetime opportunity. He has already informed the club of his intent to depart the Mapei Stadium and link up with Paris. Despite fierce competition for places at the Parc des Princes, the 23-year-old wants to go there.

Many had not taken PSG’s interest in Scamacca seriously when the news first surfaced earlier in the summer. However, it seems the French champions harbour a genuine interest in the Italian prodigy.

Paris’ pursuit of Scamacca could have everything to do with Mauro Icardi’s uncertain future in Paris. Les Parisiens are determined to cut the Argentine loose in the coming months. Deemed surplus to requirements, the 29-year-old has no other option but to pack his bags.

Yet, Icardi’s potential departure would leave new Paris boss Christophe Galtier without an out-and-out striker. And Les Parisiens have earmarked Scamacca as the best candidate to fill the vacancy. PSG are not alone in the race for the Sassuolo talisman, as Arsenal are also in the mix
