Tare Anticipates Lazio Renewal Amid Juve and Spurs Interest

Lazio president Claudio Lotito and might have had his share of problems with sporting director Igli Tare, but he doesn’t want to see the Albanian leave, especially to a rival Italian club. Following their disastrous off-pitch shenanigans, Juventus have been trying to poach Tare for quite a while now to take the place of the departed Maurizio Arrivabene.

However, latest reports via Tuttomercatoweb indicate that Tottenham Hotspur are also in the running for Tare after current sporting director Fabio Paratici was handed a 30-month ban by Italian authorities for his role in the involvement of financial irregularities and false accounting during his time at Juventus.

The Lazio executive was close to leaving the Italian capital after a public spat with Lotito and due to burgeoning tensions with coach Maurizio Sarri. Tare, who has been alongside Lotito since 2008, is a prized member of the management and the president clearly doesn’t want to lose him.

Things have smoothened since their tumultuous patch and Lotito is willing to offer Tare a three-year contract extension that would see him stay until the summer of 2026.

A difference of opinion may have arose between Lotito, Sarri and Tare, but it all looks like a thing of the past now, as Lazio aim to rise back from their 2-0 loss to Atalanta and secure a Champions League spot by the end of the season. The Biancocelesti are still in contention for the UEFA Europa Conference League. They face Romanian outfit CFR Cluj next.
