Claudio Lotito and Maurizio Sarri aren’t seeing eye to eye in the transfer market, as Lazio have been largely inactive in the past few weeks. They have signed just Taty Castellanos despite seemingly setting up a few acquisitions.
The chairman told Il Messaggero (via Goal) that they could have acquired Fred from Manchester United, but the coach didn’t rubber-stamp the deal.
“He turned it down, as it happened for Tottenham’s Giovanni Lo Celso. He has been fixated on Samuele Ricci and Piotr Zielinski, contributing to raising the price tag of somebody on an expiring contract that doesn’t even want to join us.”
The Pole should re-up his contract with Napoli, although he has yet to put pen to paper. According to Tuttomercatoweb, the squad is equally disappointed with the scarcity of reinforcements. The Lazio players fear Lotito and Sarri might reach a breaking point.
Three of their stars, Felipe Anderson, Luis Alberto, and Mattia Zaccagni, are in talks to extend their deals. However, they are buying time to see what happens between the president and the manager.

It’d be stunning, but the gaffer might have the gumption to pull off an Antonio Conte and bolt in the middle of the summer if the patron isn’t careful with his statements. He’d be more justified than the former Juventus coach in this case.
