The Five Clubs that Tried Signing Spezia’s Kiwior Before Arsenal

Arsenal executed a shock signing by bringing in Jakub Kiwior from Spezia, beating the likes of Milan, Inter and Napoli in the race for the Polish prodigy. His signing has finally been made official following Arsenal’s 3-2 win over Manchester United, as he pens a contract valid until the summer of 2028.

As per latest information from MilanNews, Spezia rejected approaches from five different European clubs for the Anderlecht youth product. It is reported that German giants Borussia Dortmund were the first to offer a €22M fee, which was deemed unacceptable by Spezia.

Other teams such as Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Brentford FC and Leicester City followed suit, and none came close to satisfying the Aquilotti.

Arsenal beat the other suitors by pitching in a €30M deal including bonuses, considerably more than what the other aforementioned teams offered. The center-back experienced a drastic rise in reputation since joining the Ligurian outfit, even appearing all four times for Poland at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
