Juventus will have to make the call on Federico Chiesa this summer since his contract expires in 2025. The Bianconeri haven’t managed to concur to a renewal at this stage. They don’t want to lose him for nothing in a year, Sky informs (via OneFootball).
On the other hand, the contractual talks aren’t yet imminent. The Old Lady and the camp of the winger, who’s represented by the powerful Fali Ramadani, will meet only after Euro 2024. The tournament could potentially last until mid-July for Italy.
Juventus and the Chiesa camp have failed to come to terms on the figures of the new contract. The forward earns €5M and believes he is owed a pay bump. The Bianconeri aren’t inclined to give it to him. They could settle for a one-year extension at the same salary.
The fit in Thiago Motta’s schemes will also need to be evaluated. The gaffer doesn’t necessarily consider him untouchable as he instead signaled for other players. According to La Stampa (via Tuttomercatoweb), if the discussions didn’t go well, a swap with Giovanni Di Lorenzo, with the Old Lady getting some cash, could be on the table to solve two conundrums for the respective teams.
