Referees for Milan and Inter Final Matches Appointed

Milan’s final league match encounter against Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium has turned out to be the most crucial of the season, as the Rossoneri need just one point to secure a first Scudetto title since 2010/11.

The delegation to lead arguably the most important match of the 2021/22 Serie A season is referee Daniele Doveri, with Bindoni and Imperiale assisting as the linesmen. AIA, the Italian Association of Referees, has appointed Piccinini to be the fourth official, whereas Aureliano and Mariani will head as VARs.

Doveri has officiated 25 Rossoneri matches. They include 14 Milan victories, 7 draws and 4 losses. The Rossoneri have received 6 penalties by virtue of the 44-year-old official. On the other hand, Sassuolo have been graced with his presence on 18 occasions, with the club tasting victory 8 times, and the rest being 4 draws and 6 defeats.

This season, Doveri has officiated 23 matches and in the process handed out 93 yellow cards and 11 penalties, but no straight red cards.

Inter will take on Sampdoria at the same time, stretching proceedings until the final minute of the final day of the 2021/22 season. Marco Di Bello will referee the match, with Preti and Giallatini as his linesmen. The fourth official will be Pezzuto, and Irrati and Meraviglia will lead the VAR room.
