The Latest on Dzeko – Sanchez: Inter Keeper Could Be Key to Unlock Deal

On Thursday, a sudden transfer exchange has appeared on the cards. Roma captain – turned outcast – Edin Dzeko is set to leave the capital and join Inter, who in turn will send Alexis Sanchez to Paulo Fonseca’s side. Whilst the two clubs seems to be agreeing on the principle, they still have to resolve some details. And in order to do so, an unlikely player could turn out to be the key to unlock the whole operation.

According to Tuttosport via TuttoMercatoWeb, the two clubs are trying to work their way around the difference between the gross wages of the two stars – as the Chilean will cost the Romans three extra million euros in terms of salary.

Therefore, the Giallorossi want a certain a remedy, and it could come in the form of an Inter goalkeeper.

Ionut Radu is still a Nerazzurri player, but the Romanian is unable to earn playing time in Milan, as Antonio Conte doesn’t even use him in the Coppa Italia.

The 23-year-old had previous loan spells at Genoa and Parma, but he was never impressive enough to earn a permanent contract, and thus would always be sent packing to his parent club.

Nonetheless, Roma seem to be in a dire need for a new shot stopper. Pau Lopez and Antonio Mirante have both failed to perform well on consistent basis.

Although Radu is far from being an established goalkeeper, his young age suggests that he could still improve and turn out to be a useful addition to Fonseca’s squad.

As the two clubs are still engaged in talks, Sanchez and Dzeko seem to be destined to move before the end of the month.

But it remains to be seen whether Radu’s addition would end up sealing the deal, or if the two sides will have to find a different solution.
