Matteo Carnevale is the founder and editor-in-chief of The Cult of Calcio. He is known among his friends as “The Soothsayer,” due to his talent for formulating football predictions that are inevitably proven wrong – His most famous one? “Andrea Pirlo’s career is over,” he stated when Pirlo moved from Milan to Juventus. A Rossoneri fan since the glory days of their Dutch trio Gullit-Rijkard-Van Basten, he could not end up but living in The Netherlands. He is a part-time goalkeeper and a full-time dreamer with a passion for telling stories, better if related to football. |

Diego Ottaviano He was born in 1982, the magical year of Pablito Rossi, Marco Tardelli, and Enzo Bearzot. He has always been active in sales, the digital e-commerce industry, and journalism. In 2008, he moved out of the Belpaese to settle in the Netherlands, where he spends his time watching, playing, and writing about football. His biggest football dream? Well, it came true in 2023: to see Napoli win the Serie A title at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, of course! |

Paolo Bozzelli, class of 1983, is our Social Media Manager and the guy who wants you to fall in love with the amazing Serie B championship. He tried to play football when he was younger, but when his feet reached size 14, he switched to volleyball. Nevertheless, he never stopped for real. When he’s not injured, you can still find him acting like a professional goalkeeper on one of the Amsterdam fields. In love with the Old Lady since the day he was born, he won’t stop dreaming about the next Champions League victory. |

Carlos Molano, a hardcore Real Madrid socio, is the outsider of the Cult of Calcio, and the first non-Azzurro to become a member of our Staff. Class of 1985, like CR7, he is known among his friends as “The Storyteller,” due to the amount of stories he is able to bring to any social event. He left the country of tapas in 2007 to work as a flight attendant in the Middle East, and took that opportunity to watch football live in stadiums around the globe. When his knee allows him to do so, he can now be seen around Amsterdam playing el deporte rey. |

Antonio Guarini came to life in 1980, but his soul was actually born in 1899, the year AC Milan was founded. He is from Irpinia, not Campania, and has been writing about football since before he started shaving. He thinks Dejan Savicevic is the best player of all time, and his dream is to see Milan win their 10th Champions League. South American football is also his passion, and Enzo Francescoli his favorite player from that era. He re-watches Fever Pitch at least once a month. Football is his way of life, he just can’t help that. |
