Another week, another Top 5. This round’s match-ups provided us with some exciting results with Lazio upsetting Inter at the “Stadio Olimpico” and climbing up to the second place, Atalanta beating Roma and keeping them at bay or Milan continuing their march towards European football after their 1-0 win against Torino. Another thing the round didn’t lack is GOALS, and out of these goals we chose the following five as our favorites.

5. Ashley Young vs Lazio (Lazio-Inter 2-1)

Lazio and Inter battled it out in a match counting for the league’s second place, and just before halftime, Ashley Young scored his first goal in the “Nerazzurri” shirt, proving the Serie A is the right choice for aging players who still want to play top-level football. After Antonio Candreva sprinted on the right flank and had his attempt denied by Thomas Strakosha, Young was waiting for the rebound and his execution was just perfect. His right-footed shot ricocheted off the ground into the top of the net leaving no hope for the Lazio keeper. Check it out in the bellow video (min 1:20)

4. Federico Chiesa vs Sampdoria (Sampdoria-Fiorentina 1-5)

Fiorentina thrashed Sampdoria on their home turf, putting five goals past Claudio Ranieri’s side and sending them further down the table, dangerously close to the relegation zone. The first four goals scored by “La Viola” were not something to remember, with an own goal, two penalties and an easy tap in. But then, Federico Chiesa struck, and he did it with style. The young Italian striker secured his brace with a superb shot in the top right corner of Emil Audero’s goal. Even though he seemed to slip, that doesn’t affect in any way the beauty of his goal. 3. Paulo Dybala vs Brescia (Juventus-Brescia 2-0)

Juve regained the top spot after a 2-0 win over Brescia, with “La Joya” one of the main protagonists. Maurizio Sarri chose to rest Cristiano Ronaldo with the Champions League knocking on the door and more difficult fixtures coming up for the “Bianconeri”. In his absence, Paulo Dybala was named responsible for the dead-ball situations, and took full advantage of it as he stepped up to take a free-kick in the 38th minute. The shot was perfect, and it earned Dybala our 3rd spot in this week’s top 5. (Video min 1:05)

2. Dries Mertens vs Cagliari (Cagliari-Napoli 0-1)

Napoli keep scoring great goals. Last week it was Jose Callejon’s bicycle kick, this week it’s Dries Mertens with a banger. It was a tight battle between the two teams but the diminutive Belgian once again proved providential against one of his favorite victims in the Serie A. He assured his side’s win with this wonderfully curled shot. The tight angle makes it even better. (Video min 2:45)

1. Mario Pasalic vs Roma (Atalanta-Roma 2-1)

It just had to be him. It’s not only the beauty of the goal, but it’s also the moment it came in. Mario Pasalic was on the pitch for a few seconds when his first touch made this gem happen. Atalanta secured their 4th spot in the table after this 6-pointer, and this goal proved to be the winner. What a way to make an entrance! Pasalic’s strike is our number one goal this weekend. Enjoy!
