Three Arsenal Players Who should Move to Serie A This Summer

By the start of the decade, Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal was one of the most feared teams in the world. Nonetheless, years of regression saw the North London club fall to the mid-table, with a squad that fails to meet the expectations of the large fanbase. This summer, Mikel Arteta will once again try to bolster his team with some new arrivals, whilst allowing some of the current roster to walk away from the Emirates. Therefore, some of the Italian teams could try to pounce on the situation and land themselves some new signings. So here are three Arsenal players who should move to Serie A during this summer transfer market.

David Luiz (Center Back)

After two separate spells at Chelsea, the Brazilian tried his luck with another club in the English capital. However, he didn’t manage to truly enhance the Gunners’ feeble defense.

Therefore, the former Benfica man is set to leave the club after two years of service and embark on what could possibly be the last adventure of his career.

Although Olympique Marseille have been mentioned as potential suitors for the soon-to-be free agent, Lazio could represent a more exciting destination.

In 2018/19, the  arsenal defender was an ever-present stalwart in Maruzio Sarri’s Chelsea, and a move to Serie A could help him in extending his career.

Preferable Destination: Lazio (Free transfer)

Hector Bellerin (Right-Back)

After 10 years in North London, the Spaniard needs a change of air. Few years ago, he was considered to be amongst the best rising fullbacks in the word, but his development was suddenly halted.

Still only 26, the Barcelona youth product still has time to save his career before it completely submits to mediocrity, but he needs to find himself a new club as soon as possible.

The right-back has been linked to Juventus throughout the past few months, with Aaron Ramsey being tipped for a move in the opposite direction towards his former club.

Whilst he would find some stern competition for a starting role in the form of Juan Cuadrado and Danilo, training under Massimiliano Allegri could do wonders to his career.

Preferable Destination: Juventus (Player exchange)

Granit Xhaka (Central Midfielder)

The Swiss international shares a love-hate relationship with the Gunners’ supporters. He was at one time the club captain, but a heated clash with the fans last season almost ended his stint with at the Emirates.

Even though things have settled later, with Xhaka returning to the team whilst being stripped from the armband, his rapport with the club was never the same again.

The midfielder’s contract is set to expire in twelve months, and no renewal can be seen on the horizon, which means that the club better sell the player this summer to avoid losing him for free.

The Arsenal man seems to have some admirers in Serie A, and José Mourinho is reportedly planning to offer him a central role within his Roma project.

Preferable Destination: Roma (Full transfer)
