Juventus Stars Busted for Breaking COVID Laws with Clandestine Party

Juventus players Weston McKennie, Paulo Dybala and Arthur were fined by the police yesterday for a party at the mansion for the American midfielder. The COVID-19 regulations issued the Italian governments currently forbid gatherings and impose a 10 pm curfew. Despite that, the three footballers were caught red-handed by the local authorities alongside ten other persons late at night, Repubblica reports.

The officers were tipped by McKennie’s neighbors because of the noise at around 11.30 pm. They had some troubles getting in as the hosts were refusing to open, but they were allowed inside after threatening to charge them with resistance. The club is said to be extremely disappointed, will levy a hefty fine and is mulling excluding them from the squad list for Saturday’s Derby with Torino, Goal.com reports.

McKennie skipped international duties because of a hip injury that has been bothering him for a while, while Argentina and Brazil did not play during the break. Paulo Dybala has recovered from his knee sprain. Arthur’s presence was already in question because he dealing again with a bone calcification in the lower leg that cost him time in recent weeks.

On the injury front, Juventus were dealt another blow as Leonardo Bonucci tested positive for COVID after his time with the Azzurri, like Merih Demiral did yesterday. He is the first Italian player to contract the virus, but there is some trepidation across the League because the Federation announced four cases within the staff after the trip to Lithuania.
