Three Players Juventus Should Sign This August

Most of the talk around Juventus’ Transfers this summer have focused on  outgoings. New manager Thiago Motta confirmed in the past few days that Federico Chiesa would not be part of his project this season. In addition Moise Kean and Matias Soulé have moved on to Fiorentina and Roma respectively.

With these attacking players departing the Old Lady needs to make some signings in what remains of the Transfer window to give Motta the best chance of success and not leave his squad incomplete as the new Serie A season kicks off. Juve have been linked with many players as is the case every summer but who should they concentrate on?

Bearing that in mind, for our third article in this mini-series we look at three players Juventus should sign this August.

The Three Players Milan Should Sign This Summer

Nicolas Gonzalez

As mentioned above Former Fiorentina star Chiesa has been told to find a new club along with Filip Kostic. Juve now hope to bring in another Viola attacker as his replacement. With so many wingers leaving, the Bianconeri must make it their mission to sign at least two new faces in that position.

Number one on their list is Nicolas Gonzalez. Alfredo Pedulla reports that Juventus are in pole position for the Argentine’s signature. While there was also interest from Atalanta but it has seemingly died down. The Florentine club are adamant they will not accept a swap deal, only interested in offers above €30 million.

Born in 1997 Gonzalez has signalled his interest in joining La vecchia Signora and the clubs are in direct contact. Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso is always hesitant to do business with his great rivals in Turin and will drive a hard bargain.

El Bichu is a tricky winger who mixes pace with explosive moments out wide to entertain and create. Fond of a counter attack he could easily fit into Motta’s playback. Brought to Florence to replace Chiesa in 2021 he could do just the same three years later. 12 goals last term ensured he finished as top scorer and also had the most shots on target (30) for his squad.

Three Players Inter Should Sign This August

Teun Koopmeiners

One of the sagas of the summer, Koopmeiners potential move to the Bianconeri has been hitting headlines for weeks. The Dutch international registered 12 league goals last term for Atalanta and provided 5 assists. An essential part of their Europa league winning side, La Dea are understandably hesitant to let Koopmeiners leave.

This is why they have set their asking price at the almost unsurmountable amount of €60 million. As per Tuttosport Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli is working to bring that down to €50 million plus bonuses. Gianluca Scamacca’s injury could complicate matters. The impact ‘Koop’ could make in the place of Adrien Rabiot is undeniable however. The Dutchman’s reading of the game is second to none and his ability to join attacks is an invaluable asset.

Under Motta Juventus are expected to play a more expansive style, one that would definitely play to the 26 year old’s strengths. Just as capable of testing the keeper from long range as sitting deep and winning the ball back, Koopmeiners has the potential to be a real midfield Dynamo for Juve.

Jean-Clair Todibo

Missing out on Alessandro Calafiori was disappointing for Juventus so they have now turned their attention to the 24 year old Todibo. Sportitalia claim Juventus are working hard to finalise a deal and already have one in place with the player himself.

It will be difficult to gwt over the line however as Nice are looking for €35 million. Champions League football is the main incentive for Todibo who marshalled Ligue 1’s best defence last season. With him at the heart of defence they kept 17 clean sheets and conceded just 29 goals.

Born in French Guyana, Todibo has a cool head and unshakable confidence that allows hardly anything to get past him. Popping up anywhere his team needs him makes him a daunting sight for any striker. Well able to play out from the back and pick out a pass to start an attack, the 24 year old has everything you need from a modern centre half.

Three different players in three different positions that the Bianconeri have been keeping their eyes on. All three should suit Thiago Motta’s style of play and better prepare his side to challenge for the title. All rests in the hands of sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who has the tricky task of talking the various clubs down from asking proces impossibile to reach for Juventus.
