Lazio Intensify Desire to Sign New Striker, Multiple Names Identified

Lazio are in the hunt for a new striker who can replace Vedat Muriqi, who seems destined to leave the Biancocelesti forward line come January. With serial goalscorer Ciro Immobile out for the time being, the club are devoid of a traditional marksman.

Reports from Il Messaggero (via TUTTOmercatoweb) reveal that Sporting Lisbon striker Jovane Cabral is back in the sights of the capital club after a move for him down trotted and the Biancocelesti ended up getting Mattia Zaccagni instead last summer.

The 23-year-old Cape Verde marksman has a market value of €10m, according to transfermarkt, and will see his contract with the Portuguese club expire in June 2023.

Another target that has emerged for the Biancocelesti is a familiar face from Atalanta – Luis Muriel. The Colombian forward has been outcasted by coach Gian Piero Gasperini, as a second choice behind Duvan Zapata. With the possible arrival of Jeremie Boga from Sassuolo, Muriel will concretely be out of the club’s future plans.

Milan, Inter and Juventus are also said to be keeping close tabs on the 30-year-old striker, according to Calciomercato.

In another set of events, Hellas Verona’s Croatian forward Nikola Kalinic has been offered to Lazio during a meeting between his representative Fali Ramadani and sporting director Igli Tare. He could be sold by the Veneto club next month in order to avoid losing the 33-year-old on a free transfer.

Agent Ramadani, who also represents Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri, has reportedly also offered veteran goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to the Biancocelesti.
