Milan formally re-introduced the returning Tiemoué Bakayoko today. “I am very happy to be back here and to play in the Champions League. This team is a lot better than the one I left two years ago. I have a great relationship with the fans, even though it was not easy at first. I had to win them over.”
“Everybody must earn his spot in football. I told coach Stefano Pioli that I am ready to work and I will give my best to help my teammates. I have a great relationship with director Paolo Maldini. He helped me a lot at first and stayed close to me when I was having some problems. He is a nice person.”
Bakayoko continued: “There are a few French players in the squad now and I think it is a positive thing. I would like to stay here after the loan spell. I am very attached to this club, which I consider a second home. At this point of my career, I would like some stability. I have gone out on loan several times and I would rather stop in one place now. The Rossoneri would be the perfect club for that to happen. My former Chelsea teammates encouraged me to come here”
“I played well next to Franck Kessié in the past, now things have changed and I think he improved a lot. I hope he will extend his contract since he is a key player. The scheme does not make much difference to me, I have experience in any design.”
Bakayoko likes Milan’s chances this season: “We must try to win as many trophies as possible to live up to the team’s name. They finished second last season, so they were close to winning the Scudetto.”
