Tonali Redirects Milan Attention Following Coppa Italia Elimination

Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali wishes to redeem his team’s season in the remaining competitions, following the Rossoneri’s premature exit from the Coppa Italia. Milan were dealt a late blow by ten-man Torino, as they succumbed to a late extra-time winner by Michel Ndary Adopo at the San Siro which knocked them out at the Round of 16 stage.

Tonali spoke to SportMediaset (via MilanNews) after the disappointing defeat and revealed that a much-needed reaction is due in other tournaments they are competing in.

“It hurts, we are disappointed, but we are lucky enough to have three other competitions and in three days we play again. We have to work hard and look at what didn’t go well. We must put a fullstop and start again.”

Milan will first take on Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana final on January 18, before continuing their Serie A journey as reigning champions behind league leaders Napoli. They currently sit in 3rd position – level on points with Juventus – but seven adrift the Partenopei.

Finally, the UEFA Champions League first knockout stage clash against Tottenham Hotspur awaits the Rossoneri next month.
