Top 5 Questions Heading Into Serie A Round 31

We’re officially in the final stretch of the season. Whilst Inter are comfortably leading the table and already have one hand wrapped around the Scudetto title, everything else is still up for grabs. So here are the Top 5 questions that needs to be posed heading into Serie A Round 31.

Another Purple Beating?

After another defeat at the hands of Atalanta last weekend, Fiorentina are slowly drifting towards the bottom, and are set to face yet another attacking-minded side in Sassuolo.

The Viola’s defenses have been in shambles throughout the campaign, and they could be exposed yet again by Roberto De Zerbi’s men.

Could Fiorentina find themselves engaged in a relegation battle at the end the season?

Island Deathmatch

Speaking of relegation contenders, Cagliari and Parma are currently laying in disastrous 18th and 19th spot respectively, and are five and seven points away from the safe zone.

Therefore, Serie A fans will witness a gruel battle in Round 31, where the loser will be handed a crucial blow for what’s left of his hopes of avoiding the horrible drop to the second division.

So which side will live to see another day? and which one will left in an almost hapless situation?

Champions League Clash

The prospect of seeing Juventus and Atalanta locked in within the same battle would have been unimaginable few years ago.

And yet, here we are in 2021, and the two sides are fighting for a spot in the Champions League group stages next season.

Can Juventus fight off the chasers and maintain their 3rd position? Or will Atalanta further extend their winning streak to five in a row?

Brotherly battle

Serie A is the only top European league that can call itself home for a brotherly battle on the bench, and on Round 31, Filippo and Simone Inzaghi will write another episode in their saga.

Whilst the first match ended in a 1-1 draw, it remains to be seen whether Lazio can maintain their push towards an unlikely CL spot next season, or if Benevento can add three points to further secure their position.

So which brother will come out on top on Sunday?

One More Step?

Inter are currently riding on a stunning 11-match winning streak, and they will hoping to extend it with a win at the Maradona Stadium.

On the other hand, Napoli will be looking to take advantage of the clash between Atalanta and Juventus in order to break through the Top 4 positions.

Will the Nerazzurri take one more step towards their long-awaited Scudetto? Or Can the southerners end their opponents’ terrifying run?
