Top Serie A Teams Line Up for Future Gudmundsson Race

Genoa aren’t planning any more big sales after selling Radu Dragusin to Tottenham, although Albert Gudmundsson is in high demand. They have received important proposals from all sorts of leagues for him, but they are resisting them, Gianluca Di Marzio relays.

The attacker has been the driving force of their side so far and has posted eight goals and two assists. He has carried them while Mateo Retegui and Junior Messias cycled through injuries. He was highly coveted last summer as well after helping them earn a quick promotion back to the top flight. The Rossoblù made sure he would stay with a contract extension.

The premiere Serie A sides, especially Inter, Roma, and Juventus are lining up to snap up Gudmundsson at the end of the season. The Grifone could cave at that point.

They have managed to stay reasonably out of trouble so far. They are 12th on the table with a five-point lead over the relegation zone. The 26-year-old was acquired for just €1.5M from AZ Alkmaar in January 2022. He has totaled 70 appearances in Liguria, hitting the net 25 times.

Our Take on Gudmundsson

It’s easier to replace a defender than a forward for teams of Genoa’s caliber, plus they probably won’t receive crazy bids since he’s not a youngster. Unless Federico Chiesa departs, Roma are be the most logical landing spot. They desperately need a Paulo Dybala deputy, and the two could easily play together too.
