Torino Defender Likely Already Too Expensive for Inter

Inter have been following Perr Schuurs if they lost either Stefan De Vrij or Francesco Acerbi, but they’d have to open their wallet to get him. Torino have set a robust price tag for the Dutchman, who has multiple suitors in the Premier League.

Per TuttoSport, the Granata plot to cash in €50M, the same amount of money they got for Gleison Bremer, if they were to part ways with him next summer. They’d ask €30M plus Valentino Lazaro to the Nerazzurri since they’d like to retain the wingback, who showed well before a knee injury this season.

Inter see Schuurs as a solid option to serve as the defensive anchor, not as Milan Skriniar’s heir. However, they have hopes to keep both their current contributors in such role. De Vrij is on an expiring deal, and he’s still weighing his options. If nothing better arises, he’ll take a two or three-year contract from La Beneamata at his present wages.

Acerbi is on loan from Lazio, and the Nerazzurri wish to pay lower than their pre-determined €3.5M option to buy. While the counterparty will offer some resistance, they’d have to find another destination if he left Milan.

Our Take on Inter and Schuurs

He’s the best Serie A has to offer in terms of young defensive talents. Torino would likely have to find a new coach if they sold him just a year after acquiring him. At those sums, he could only transfer abroad. Even though they are aging, it’d be one fewer problem if De Vrij and Skriniar both stayed, as the brass would be able to focus their limited resources on a Skriniar replacement.
