Torino have let go of their Brazilian centre-back in Lynaco Silveira to Southampton on a permanent deal, according to Fabrizio Romano. Paperworks between La Granata and the Saints has been completed along with a part of the medical examination.

The four-year deal for the Brazil U23 international will be set for a transfer fee of €7.5m – marginally more than his €5m valuation, according to transfermarkt. A bonus of €2.5m is also on the books, which will take the overall deal to a combined €10m.

His contract at Southampton is expected to last until June 2025.

Having let go of a defender, Torino are keen on reinforcing their defensive capabilities. Two names have popped up for the Turin club in Cagliari’s 21-year-old centre-back Sebastian Walukiewicz and Spartak Moscow’s French defender Samuel Gigot.

A deal for either one is expected to go through in a transfer market season that has been bogged down by Andrea Belotti’s departure rumors from the club.
