Torino Director Rules Out Juventus Move for Bremer Amid Bayern Interest

Torino centre-back Gleison Bremer has witnessed somewhat of new birth this campaign in Serie A. The 24-year-old defender has been the topic of discussion for numerous clubs on the market looking or defensive reinforcements, from Germany to Italy and England. He only just renewed his contract at the start of February to June 2024, a two-year extension that will allow Torino to potentially hold on to their prized asset. However, with big clubs lurking to lure him away, nothing is set in stone.

As Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw at the Allianz Stadium at the hands of Torino in the Derby della Mole, Granata sporting director Davide Vagnati took his time to speak after the match and shed light on Bremer’s current situation.

Speaking to DAZN (via Alfredo Pedulia), Vagnati discussed the Brazilian’s future, as Azzurri giants Inter, Milan and Juventus are all linked with a move for him.

“When we enter the field, we try to play our own game and win. Making promises isn’t easy, especially with a strong opponent. Today we will give our soul until the last minute to bring the game home,” he said after the match.

He then pointed out Bremer’s allegiance towards Torino that would potentially see him move to a club other than city rivals Juventus.

The Italian heavyweights aren’t the only teams in contention to sign him in the summer, as Bavarian giants Bayern Munich are said to have initial contact in order to sign him as outbound Niklas Sule’s direct replacement, according to reports from Sport1. Newcastle United are also keeping close tabs.

It is highly probable that Bremer could follow the footsteps of his role model Lucio, who previously starred for both of Bremer’s suitors Inter and Bayern. The versatile stopper is four appearances short of the 100 mark for Torino.
