Gleison Bremer has had an impressive growth over the past two years, becoming the anchor of the Torino defense. The top teams, in particular Inter and Juventus, have started eyeing him for next summer. The Granata want to keep him long-term and are working to extend his contract, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
The center-back is currently tied to the club until 2023, and his price tag is around €8-10M, Calciomercato.com reports. Inter have shown interest as they will likely move from Andrea Ranocchia and Aleksandar Kolarov at the end of the campaign. Juventus could have an opening in the back as well given their aging back-line. Moreover, agent Mino Raiola cast some doubts on the future of Matthijs De Ligt.
Through seven matches, Bremer has logged the highest number of interceptions in Serie A. He ranks second in Europe in that area of the game. The Torino defender is in the top echelon also for successful duels and balls recuperated.
The Granata will have to win him over with a strong offer to reach an agreement. In the not-so-distant past, Bremer stated: “I want to play in a European competition. Without that, the Brazilian national team does not notice you.” Failing to come to terms before next June would cause his value to drop.
The 24-year-old joined Torino in 2018 in a €5.80M from Atletico Mineiro. Since then, he has accumulated 84 appearances and has scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists, on top of furnishing solid displays in the back.
