Juventus left-back Luca Pellegrini has closely been associated with a transfer to Lazio in recent weeks, but the emergence of Torino in the transfer race is expected to spice things up. The Biancocelesti have failed to find an agreement with the Bianconeri for the 24-year-old’s transfer in recently held meetings.

The Granata surprisingly set up talks with the player’s representative Vincenzo Raiola in a bid to draw him to the opposite end of Turin, taking over Lazio and Milan in the race, as per Calciomercato. Pellegrini recently joined up with the first team at Continassa to prepare for the pre-season but is unlikely to stay put.

Pellegrini spent 2022/23 across two spells at Eintracht Frankfurt and Lazio respectively, garnering 22 appearances in total. The Roma youth product joined Juventus in a promising €22M move back in 2019, with Leonardo Spinazzola transferring the other way.

However, Pellegrini has failed to punch above his weight since then, with consecutive loan deals thereafter failing to live up to expectations. Atletico Madrid have also inquired for Pellegrini.

With Wilfried Singo expected to leave, Torino are active in their pursuit to sign his replacement, perhaps in the form of Pellegrini or even Hellas Verona’s Josh Doig. However, the Juventus-owned fullback’s wish is to extend his stay at Lazio.
