Torino Not Selling Defender Linked to Milan and Chelsea

Gleison Bremer has landed on the radar of multiple top teams thanks to his excellent showings, especially in the last calendar year. The Torino defender has reportedly drawn interest from Milan, Chelsea, and Tottenham. The Rossoneri, in particular, are looking to replace Simon Kjaer. But the Granata will not let him go in the upcoming window.

Their president Urbano Cairo was clear in his remarks: “I have never considered selling Bremer in January, absolutely not.” He repeated it three times in the span of a few minutes while talking to the press at the end of a League’s assembly: “He is our player, and I have not talked to anybody about him yet. He will stay with us until the end of the season, then we will see.”

The situation might change in the summer. The Torino defender is under contract until 2023, and the parties have yet to agree on an extension. The Granata might indeed opt to cash in on him at that point, differently from what they did with Andrea Belotti, whom they might lose for nothing. Inter and other top Italian clubs will be in the mix as well.

Cairo also weighed in on Milan loanee Tommaso Pobega: “He is doing well, and he is an excellent player and a good guy. I have not discussed his future with the Rossoneri, but we will do it at the right time. Things are still premature now. The transfer market is very distant. I have no updates on Belotti, who is on an expiring contract.”
