Lucas Torreira Buys House in Florence: Return to Fiorentina Coming?

There has been no secret that Lucas Torreira wanted to stay with Fiorentina past last summer. The Uruguayan was loved by the Viola tifosi during his time at the Stadio Artemio Franchi. Instead, Fiorentina refused to pay the £15m fee asked by parent club Arsenal. In the end, the 26-year-old signed for Turkish giants Galatasaray.

However, Calciomercato confirmed that Torreira has bought a house in Florence. The aforementioned source did point out that the Uruguayan buying a house there was not a guarantee that he will make a return to the club. Furthermore, there have been no early contacts with Galatasaray to try and lure the central midfielder back to Italy.

In his sole season with Fiorentina, Torreira took part in 35 of La Viola’s matches, scoring five times and assisting once. Since departing the side, he has played seven times for Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig. He also played in Italian football with Pescara and Sampdoria earlier in his career before his move to Arsenal.
