Tottenham Defender More Distant from Serie A Return

Radu Dragusin has been attached to Juventus and Napoli in the last couple of weeks as he wasn’t starring regularly for Tottenham. On the other hand, he got the nod and fared well in the most recent fixture, as starter Micky van de Ven went down with an injury. Coach Ange Postecoglou praised him after the game versus Aston Villa (via CalcioNews24).

“We have to manage what we have. We have guys who can replace the starters, and we need them. Radu played well midweek. He has provided his contribution any time he’s been called upon. It’s nice to have him in the squad.”

Juventus will have to look elsewhere if Dragusin ceases to be an option. In addition to Milan Skriniar and a few other center-backs, they have shortlisted former Sampdoria defender Joachim Andersen, who’s currently at Fulham, Tuttomercatoweb reported.

After two years in Serie A, he moved to Olympique Lyon and then England, where he spent time at Crystal Palace before being acquired by the Cottagers for nearly €30M last summer. He has logged seven appearances so far. He has 38 caps with Denmark. The Old Lady would be keen especially if he could depart on loan.

Our Take on Juventus, Dragusin, and Andersen

They are after some sound defenders, but they need a major stroke of luck to nab one for cheap. It could have possibly been the former if he continued to ride the pine, but he’ll have the opportunity to turn things around. The ex-Sampdoria man transferred too recently and for too much money to be a viable target. They might be better off plucking somebody from a minnow.
