Tottenham Confident of Executing Loan Deal for Roma Prodigy

After onboarding Paulo Dybala on a free transfer and now aiming for ex-Torino striker Andrea Belotti, the future of Nicolò Zaniolo at Roma is uncertain, and Tottenham reignited their interest in signing him. The 23-year-old attacker has been on Juventus’ crosshairs this summer, but the presence of Premier League giants spices things up.

As per the latest reports from FootMercato, the attacking winger is wanted by ex-Inter manager Antonio Conte and especially the North London club’s director Fabio Paratici, who has closely followed the youngster’s development during his time in Italy. It is understood that the Giallorossi are open to selling Zaniolo after contacts with Tottenham were re-established.

There is increased competition among Roma’s ranks for a place in the starting eleven. Moreover, the capital club can only strengthen other areas of the pitch with reinforcements if they execute more departures.

As of the moment, Tottenham are growing increasingly confident of signing Zaniolo, perhaps on a potential season-loan deal with the option to make it permanent next summer. He has two more years left on his Roma contract and Spurs’ initial proposal is touted to include a €10M initial fee and a €40M future disbursement to make the transfer permanent.

Ex-Juventus sporting director Paratici is currently in talks with Tiago Pinto and company, and an agreement seems to be on the horizon – similar to what Tottenham pulled off with Juventus for Dejan Kulusevski last January.
