Totti: “Roma Have No Champion in the Squad at the Moment”

Francesco Totti will resume having a dialog with Roma, although from the outside. The legendary striker has become the brand ambassador for DigitalBits, the main sponsor of the Giallorossi. He denied it could be a vehicle for him to return as a director, but he left the door open.

The striker talked to La Repubblica during an event: “They looked for me, and I quickly accepted. Roma were not involved in this. There is no direct correlation, and I am not trying to have my old role back. I do not know what the future holds, but I will now have more opportunities to talk with the club. This partnership will be important for them and me. As for the Giallorossi, anything could happen in the future.”

Totti commented on the recent performances and current squad: “You need good players to win, an important coach, and a front office that makes those who are part of the club feel at home. But the first element is key. I do not want to disparage the Roma roster, but there are no champions right now. They have a few pieces that do well within their team play.”

“As a fan, I can say that we are not going through a great stretch. However, you are not truly a Roma supporter if you do not suffer. We are used to these up-and-down seasons. I am sure the owners want to make us happy. The Giallorossi deserve more prestigious stages. We have to give them some time, hoping it will not take long.”
