Serie A Trio Linked to Italian-Turkish Defender Baniya

Italian-Turkish defender Rayyan Baniya, who stars for Fatih Karagümrük, has been linked to several Serie A sides including Udinese and Napoli. However, the lack of concrete links has forced him to stay put in Istanbul despite his agent Giovanni Bia raising talks of interest.

Bia spoke to a broadcast in a collaborative interview (via Tuttomercatoweb) and revealed the background regarding a potential exit for Baniya.

“There are many interests, some clubs have even made a serious approach, but Karagümrük are asking for a significant amount. He’s a player with great prospects, whoever gets him gets a great deal.”

He then quipped about Juventus luring Bologna-born Baniya thanks to Cristiano Giuntoli’s presence.

“There was also interest from Napoli in the past season. Giuntoli might call me to take him to Juventus.”

The Hellas Verona academy product will see his Karagümrük contract expire in the summer of 2025. He spent last season playing under now-Sampdoria manager Andrea Pirlo.

Our Take on Baniya Italy Return Links

While Napoli are unlikely to strike a deal for Baniya after signing Natan from Brazil as Kim Min-jae’s replacement, it cannot be ruled out that Udinese or even Juventus could launch an attempt to sign him. Baniya possesses an Italian passport, which could very well facilitate a transfer to the Peninsula.
