Two European Giants Join Race for Milan’s Soon-to-be Free Agent Kessie

Milan’s Franck Kessie is yet to sign a renewed contract deal with the Rossoneri as his existing contract expires at the end of the current season. He has long been on polar terms with the club’s management regarding wages as he hopes to become one of the club’s top earners – in contrast to what the club are offering him.

This has emerged as a major cause of concern as top European heavyweights are lining up for his signature. Tottenham Hotspur were one of the first clubs to show interest, followed by Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Catalan giants Barcelona have joined the aforementioned clubs in pursuit of the Ivorian international. Manchester United have also set sights on the soon-to-be free agent, Daily Mail reports, as a possible direct replacement for Paul Pogba, who himself is enroute the same path as Kessie.

Kessie has etched himself as one of the first names on Pioli’s teamsheet, an undisputed starter the club would want to retain.

This is the fifth straight season for him in Rossoneri colours, after having moved from Atalanta in 2017 on an initial two-year loan deal. He has appeared 187 times for Milan so far, scoring 30 goals in the process.
