Two Italian Clubs Keeping an Eye on New Georgian Talent

Following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s acquisition by Napoli at the start of the season, yet another Georgian talent could arrive in Italy, influenced by the same agent – Mamuka Jugeli – that got ‘Kvaradona’ to the Partenopei along with Italian intermediary Cristian Zaccardo. Jugeli spoke about 20-year-old prodigy Giorgi Kvernadze in his latest interview.

Speaking to Georgian channel GeoTeam on YouTube (via Tuttomercatoweb), Jugeli revealed two clubs that want to bring Kvernadze to Italy.

“Frosinone and Verona are keeping an eye on him.”

Kvernadze currently plays as a left winger for Dinamo Batumi, the same Georgian club Napoli signed Kvaratskhelia from. Likened to Kvara himself, Kvernadze is notable for his sleek skills on the ball, as he functions regularly as an inverted winger.

Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has already expressed his interest in Kvernadze following positive assessments by the club scouts. The Georgia U21 international’s future is still up in the air, but a move in the near future to Italy cannot entirely be ruled out.
