Napoli are on the verge of losing two significant players – Victor Osimhen and Kim Min-jae. The duo played a vital role in the Partenopei’s Scudetto charge last season, and having boosted their respective profiles, they are now on the brink of big money moves. This comes as a warning sign for Napoli, who are scurrying around to find replacements, most recently onboarding Rudi Garcia to take Luciano Spalletti’s place.
As per Sky Italia (via TuttoNapoli), a recent meeting at Castel Volturno indicates that Napoli are beginning to take new strides ahead of a crucial season.
The first priority remains Min-jae’s replacement, with Lens stopper Kevin Danso being followed closely by Partenopei scouts, along with Giorgio Scalvini. The fact that Danso can operate in various roles in the four-man backline, including as a fullback, means he could provide more than what the South Korean did in his first and perhaps only season in Naples. The €50M release clause set upon Min-jae will be activated for the first two weeks of July, with Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Newcastle United and Liverpool all interested.
Meanwhile, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis recently stated that Osimhen would be sold only if massive bids arrive. However, it will be no surprise if the €120M man is lured away from Naples either to the Premier League or elsewhere.
