Udinese Keeping Ambitions High

With the Serie A returning a couple days from now, Udinese has been the obvious bright spark. The Bianconeri find themselves in third place, just one point back from co-leaders Napoli and Atalanta. However, club patron Giampaolo Pozzo leaves ambitions quite high for his side this season.

Having started the season with a loss and a draw, fortunes have favoured Udinese since. Five wins in a row followed, and now talks of qualifying for Europe are being brought up.

In a recent interview, Pozzo poined out the ambitions for his club in the short-term. The bare minimum, of course, is to remain in the Serie A. Beyond that, he wants to see his Udine-based team push for the European places. There is belief that the team can challenge the bigger clubs in the league and do more than just a midtable finish.

The Bianconeri has eight more matches – seven in the Serie A – before the World Cup break. Those include trips to Lazio and Napoli as well as a home match versus Atalanta. Whether they can keep up the incredible form between now and then remains to be seen.
