Udinese sporting director Federico Balzaretti has confirmed Beto’s transfer to Everton while also shining light on Roberto Pereyra and Joel Pohjanpalo. The Friulani have not experienced the best of windows despite the fact that they succeeded in keeping hold of Lazar Samardžić, after the transfer failed due to a row with the player’s agents.
Balzaretti disclosed Udinese’s transfer plans to DAZN in an exclusive talk, first talking about the €30M transfer for Portuguese forward Beto (via Calciomercato).
“We know it’s a technically important loss, but it is a very important economic operation. If an offer had arrived we would have evaluated it, we said it. Beto had expressed his willingness to talk to them, we are moving forward.”

When quizzed if Venezia striker and Genoa-linked Pohjanpalo is the apt replacement, Balzaretti noted it won’t be easy to fill Beto’s absence.
“It won’t be easy to fill Beto’s absence, but we’re working on it, he’s not the only name, we have others on the table and together we’re evaluating the best profile to replace him”.
Balzaretti also hinted about the potential return of free agent Pereyra, whose contract at Udinese expired at the start of the summer window.
“Roberto Pereyra is a player who was very important, one of the family. He has personality and is versatile, we are evaluating still.”
