The next summer window could finally be the right time for Rodrigo De Paul to leave Udinese and join a top club, as director Pierpaolo Marino stated that they will not put up too much resistance if the right bid comes.
The executive told Radio 24: “Several clubs across Europe could use a midfielder with his skill-set, whoever acquires him will significantly increase the talent and the quality of their roster. We would not force him to stay if we received a significant offer, even though logically as an Udinese official I hope for the contrary. We know that he deserves the chance to play in a big team, so we will see what will happen in the summer.”
De Paul has been repeatedly linked to Inter and Juventus over the last 18 months and to Leeds as far as foreign outfits are concerned. While the Friulani never opened to the possibility of letting him leave in January given their ever-precarious position in the standings, they will be more willing in the summer.
However, they set the price tag at €40M in previous offseasons and nobody came close to matching their requests. The player, while voicing his appreciation for Antonio Conte and for Premier League in general in the past, has never concretely pushed to leave despite the conspicuous interest. After joining from Valencia in 2016, he has blossomed into one of the most well-rounded and technical midfielders in Serie A, tallying 30 goals and 28 assists in 168 appearances with Udinese.
