Uncertain Future for Roma Star, Juventus and Inter Waiting in the Wings

Edin Dzeko was among the players that unveiled the new Roma kit yesterday. If he stayed, it would be his sixth season with the Giallorossi. It is not clear yet whether that will be the case, although the latest signs go in that direction. However, other factors suggest a partying of the ways could be in order, if not even preferable.

Roma have confirmed Borja Mayoral, who is on loan from Real Madrid. But they have been coy on the Bosnian forward. José Mourinho shot down the questions about him in his introductory presser. The Portuguese coach may prefer somebody younger, who would be able to grow during his three-year project. The Friedkin family would not mind if he left since he is the highest-paid player, Calciomercato.com informs.

Besiktas and Fenerbahce inquired about Dzeko but did not open a negotiation to sign him. Juventus and Inter could eye him as a last-minute option if they did not fill out their attacks with other options. Although, they need to trim their rosters first, and he would have to lower his €7.5M salary. His deal is up in 2022.

Roma are eyeing Andrea Belotti, although the talks with Torino have been challenging. The two clubs differ significantly on the price tag. Another possible option for the role is Sasa Kalajdzic, who was the first player to score to Italy in the Euro. However, the outside candidates would not gain steam until the future of Dzeko is sorted. The issue is that it may happen only in late August, the specialized site adds.
