Valencia and Juventus Fairly Distant in Arthur Deal

Juventus and Valencia are in talks to set up a loan move for Arthur, but the deal is far from reaching its homestretch just yet. The midfielder is keen on the destination, but the parties have to settle numerous aspects before the final greenlight.

As per Calciomercato, Los Murcielagos initially offered to pay just 20/25 percent of the midfielder’s €5M wages. It’s too low for the Bianconeri, which want to contribute to half of it at most. The obstacle isn’t insurmountable, but the Spanish sides have salary cap issues.

Moreover, Valencia have to part ways with one extra-EU player before acquiring Arthur, as their three spots are filled. They are looking for a buyer for Maxi Gomez. The other two are Marcos André and Samuel Lino. Juventus would accelerate their pursuit of Leandro Paredes if they offloaded the ex-Barcelona man. They have an agreement on personal terms, but haggling with PSG has been arduous. The two clubs aren’t on the same page on the formula of the transfer and his valuation.

As for their other midfielders, the Bianconeri are open to selling Adrien Rabiot for a worthy offer. Monaco might come knocking if they qualified for the Champions League, TuttoSport relays. Instead, Massimiliano Allegri has blocked the departures of Fabio Miretti, Nicolò Rovella and Nicolò Fagioli for now.

Our Take on Arthur Potentially Joining Valencia

It would be quite the coup de theatre if the Old Lady managed to get rid of two more underwhelming and pricey players on top of Aaron Ramsey. Rather than getting fixated with Paredes, they should go after Lucas Torreira, who’s about to transfer to Galatasaray for cheap.
