Valencia Price Inter Out of Yarek Gasiorowski Deal

Valencia have reportedly triggered an option to extend Yarek Gasiorowski’s contract amid Inter Milan’s growing interest in the highly-rated left-back. According to Spanish news outlet Marca, via FCInterNews, the Italian giants were ready to table a substantial €20 million bid to take the 19-year-old away from Estadio de Mestalla.

However, Valencia’s latest move has thrown a spanner in the works. By extending the Spaniard’s deal, they’ve increased his release clause to a whopping €45m, effectively pricing Inter out of the move. While the Nerazzurri were ready to meet the previous price tag, they couldn’t get near the new valuation.

Gasiorowski has developed into one of the hottest prospects in the European market. In addition to Inter, several other top clubs have approached Valencia for their versatile left-footed defender. But Los Che are determined to keep hold of their prized asset this summer. As such, Inter’s pursuit of a new left-back is back to square one.

Inter boss Simone Inzaghi is desperate to reinforce the left side of his defense after losing Tajon Buchanan to a long-term injury. The reigning Serie A champions were one step away from signing Juan Cabal before Juventus hijacked their move for the former Hellas Verona defender. It forced Inter to expand their search.

Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior and Genoa’s Johan Vasquez have emerged as potential options for Inter. The latter could be a viable solution for Inzaghi, given the friendly relationship between the two clubs. But it’s still only a theory.
