Verratti Committs to Spending the Rest of His Playing Career at PSG

Marco Verratti has ruled out leaving PSG for another top European team. The midfielder is currently under contract until 2024. After hanging his cleats, he will head back to his hometown Pescara, where he first blossomed.

Verrati spoke to the radio FranceInfo: “I will spend the little time left in my career at PSG. I had the chance to play with and against several champions and take part in multiple big games. That is just what I wished to do when I joined.”

The Italian international heaped praise on his club: “I have fallen in love with PSG, and that is why I always try to give my best. I also want to repay the trust I was given. They signed me when I was just a kid. I came from a little city in Italy, and I found everything I was looking for here. My kids were born in Paris. I spent the best years of my life here, and everything has been incredible. I have become a man and found love. My time in France has generated incredible memories.”

Verratti intends to come back home in the future: “I will return to Pescara after my prolonged stay with PSG. I will reunite with my friends and family. And you can enjoy both the sea and the mountains there.” The 28-year-old midfielder transferred to the French outfit in 2012 directly from the Delfino after a couple of seasons in Serie B. He has been linked to Barcelona and Manchester City at various points, but always to no avail.
