Milan loanee Pierre Kalulu is enjoying his early life at Juventus after shockingly swapping allegiances late in the summer. During an interview with Sky Sport, the French defender opened up on his early experiences at the Allianz Stadium.
“I felt good right away here at Juventus. With the work I’ve done, I’ve felt confident in the recent matches,” Kalulu said, as reported by Gianluca Di Marzio. “We’re athletes; you always have to be ready on the field to wear the Bianconeri shirt.”
Kalulu has been part of Thiago Motta’s unpenetrable defensive unit. Juventus drew 0-0 against Napoli at home last weekend. It was the result they expected, but it still made them the only Serie A side to keep a clean sheet in all five league matches this season.
The 24-year-old doesn’t want the backline to take all the credit for such a formidable defensive form. Instead, the Juventus defender believes it’s a team effort.
“A defense that doesn’t concede goals is always a positive aspect, but at this level, it’s the work of the entire group, starting from the striker.“
Kalulu is also aware of a congested schedule awaiting Juventus in the coming weeks.
“These are tough weeks with many games to play, but we’re still at the beginning,” the Juventus ace stated. “The team is very focused on the work and is training to become stronger.”
Juventus will hope to break their winless league run on Saturday when they take on Genoa at Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
