Vidal Rejoices for Personal Form, Starts to Spice Up Clash with Juventus

Arturo Vidal drew his first start of the season and bagged his second goal against Sheriff Tiraspol. With the positive result, Inter are back on track in Champions League. “It was hard to think this team could not win, as it happened last year too. We did it and now have to keep improving on a few things.”

Vidal is coming off an injury-filled campaign and was rumored to leave in the summer: “Last season was very difficult to me. I did not do the whole preparation since I had joined late. It is different now. I am happy, and I am fully fit. This is my true self.”

The midfielder took a dig at his former team in the interview with Mediaset: “I hope to be ready for Sunday, but really for the entire season. The fact that Leonardo Bonucci said that Inter won the Scudetto due to Juventus’ demerits makes me laugh. They will have an opportunity to avenge themselves this week. We will see on the pitch which the best team is.”

Vidal could have another opportunity to be in the XI in the upcoming game. Hakan Calhanoglu is nursing an ankle sprain he picked during the second international break, and he is questionable to play. On top of that, coach Simone Inzaghi could choose a more muscular formation against a strong opponent, considering also that the Turk has provided uneven performances in the last outings. Matias Vecino is an option for the role too, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
