It has been an extremely busy week for Milan, and Friday won’t be an exception. While talks with Mandzukic continue to advance throughout the day, the Rossoneri directors are working on other fronts as well. Soualiho Meïté has been linked with a Milan move even before the opening of the January transfer session, and the Torino midfielder is currently undergoing his medical examination prior to completing the transfer.
Calciomercato dropped a video (posted below) showing the arrival of the Frenchman at the private clinic of La Madonnina where the medical examinations are set to take place.
The report adds that the transfer is expected to cost the Diavolo one million euros as an initial loan fee for the remaining 6 months of the season, while they will retain the right to buy the player’s outright for a total fee of 7 million euros plus bonuses.
If everything goes according to plan, Meïté could be available to participate in Monday’s league encounter between Milan and Cagliari, as Stefano Pioli is in dire need of some fresh blood within his injury ridden midfield.

Our View
Although the Rossoneri faithful were probably hoping for a bigger name to enhance their midfield, Meïté might just be what Milan need at this particularly tough economical situation.
In Franck Kessié and Ismael Bennacer, Stefano Pioli already possesses one of the best double-pivot in the league if not the very best, and the young Sandro Tonali is growing with every outing.
Therefore, a fourth wheel was needed in midfield, as the former Fiorentina tactician had to rely on the likes of Rade Krunic and Davide Calabria as emergency options in the middle of the park during the current injury crisis.
For his part, Meïté combines his physical strength with some decent passing ability, which would make him an adequate replacement for Kessié – who could definitely do with some rest at this point of the season.
